A Translation Project Report On How To Create An Economic Democracy(the First Five Chapters)

The feature of the original text which the writer of the thesis chose belongs to Business English, and Business English has its unique style and meaning, characterized by its careful selection of words, complex sentence structures and profound content. Therefore, we must understand the accurate meaning of the original text, familiarize ourselves with business terminology, and discriminate sentence structures between English and Chinese.(Yang Huaien,2008)This thesis summarizes the translation skills needed in translating Business English text from a translator’s perspective. The translation skills include the following aspects:First, the translation skills on complicated and long sentences of Business English text; second, the translation skills on rhetorical sentences of Business English text; third, conversion of part of speech during the translation process; forth, the consistency of the translated text during the translation process; fifth, the technique of footnote explanation on some specific words with cultural background when translating Business-related text.
