Summary:Along with the development of globalization and the increase of business negotiations between countries and areas, as an crucial branch of English major, oral interpretation is becoming more and more important.As an international language, English has been widely used between business negotiations. English is not only as a tool for a two-sides’ interaction and communication, but also a basis for the establishment of cooperation relation; the interpreter is no mere a tie between two sides, but rather play a decisive role in the whole process of negotiation. The interpreters should pay attention to different phrases, different modes of expressions and different moods which occur in negotiations. At times only a misuse of a key word or expression will produces enormous impaction on the whole business negotiation or even leads the breakdown of talk. When the interpreter translates the talks between two sides, sometimes he can not fully comply with the moods of the talkers or veer from the views of the talkers. It needs interpreters’ grasp and employment of special translation skills.For a formal business negotiation, the interpreter should first know the background as well as the thesis and then try to gather the words related to the content what he have to translate. Finally, combines with one’s personal experience, the proper application of translation skills and strategies will help the interpreters promote business negotiation.This paper tries to discuss series of methods and skills of translation which may be used in business negotiations and I just hope all what I discussed may offer inspiration and assistance to all interpreters.
