Studies have found that people have some attentional bias and sensitivity, the study of theneural mechanisms also tested the idea that seems to negative emotions. Follow-up study is furtherproof that even in the inside of the negative emotions, due to the different level of the negative, thesusceptibility of the individual are not the same.Individual are more sensitive to extreme negativestimulus. Within the positive emotion, did not find the effect, We calle it Emotional Valenceintensity effect. Emotional negativity bias has been a lot of research evidence, but there are someresearchers come to different conclusions. The reason for the difference of the experimental resultscould be manifold. We believe that the study of emotional processing, the motivation may be aseparate dimension, instead of the traditional idea that is contained in the framework of theemotional valence, and arousal. The independence of the motivation is likely to be emotionalprocessing study of the important reasons for the different results. The assumption based on the independent motivation to re-examine the emotional valenceintensity effect. We speculate that negative emotional potency effect occurs because the strength islikely to be caused by different motives, but no positive Emotional Valence intensity effectreason is probably due to the level of positive emotional stimuli potency between motivationstrength is insignificant. Therefore, we control the stimuli materials and participant.Presented byrapid sequence (RSVP) paradigm of this study investigated whether different types of emotionalstimuli can attract more individual resources. We first need to re-evaluate four different types ofpositive emotional stimuli picture, and by manipulating the participant’s state differences.Twoexperiments prove that: no matter the level of approach motivation, food categories attract moreattentional resources; motivation for approaching strong emotional stimuli, the role of motivationmay be masking the role of potency, and for approaching motivation weaker material, showedpotency effect; positive Emotional Valence intensity effect may also occur, while motivationalfactors might have played a role in it.
