The Reflection Of Distinctive Spiritual Outlook Of Nanyang (Southeast Asia) Chinese

Zishu Li is a highly successful Malaysian Chinese writer of new generation through self learning. She is indeed a vigorous writer, in her own inimitable ways. Her literature work displays unique writing style, hence made her enjoys an important position in the development of Malaysian Chinese Literature Study and known as the new generation representative figures of Malaysian Chinese Writer. This dissertation studies her literature works (writings) as the research object and discuss her novel (fictions) creation characteristics emphatically in this paper.In this dissertation, we learned that her Malaya communist themed novels, reviewing the life and struggle of that era’s in this Nanyang (southeastern Asian) land; revealed Malaya Communist unique way of fight in this well-loved land from a unique perspective. Her Malaya Communist themed novels are hence considered as Classis examples of Malaysian Chinese Literature. This dissertation carefully explored, the interpretation of folk customs as symbols in her Malaya Communist themed novel, to unlock the uniqueness of the Malaya Communist History, especially in historical spirit/humanism (the spirit of history), and this further reveals the social outlook of Chinese community in Southeast Asia. The way how Zishu Li wrote in fact contains unique of cultural connotations and spiritual value. According to this way, this paper explores her creative belief and writing style of literacy creation during sojourn expatriate period. Studies shown that her literacy works reflects unique Chinese-styled, Nanyang Native culture:the microcosm of the southern areas of China in Nanyang, Malaysia as a multi racialism society, and the livelihood of the civilian life of Nanyang (Southeast Asia). Her insistence to the use of Chinese in her literacy work highlighting the characteristic of Chinese language, especially protruding the charm of culture and spirit by using dialect and slang in expressions.Moreover, this paper also discusses her creative pursuit in mini novel, analysis the panorama of color and action in this boundless universe, appreciating, delving into and analyzing the artistic features of her mini novel work, and this lead into to understand further her mini novel work is the continuity of her writing styles; her description of the Chinese Spiritual world not only highlighting profound ethnic characteristic, but also unfold and show inside into the complicated state of the human mind. She was trying to exploit the darkness of the society and the ugliness of mankind; the ultimate purpose is to arouse awareness towards the contradictions in the changes of the society, and to seek the essence of mankind.This paper points out Zishu Li’s literature work comprises significant creative characteristic and aesthetics. She works under "diaspora", she is juggling between freedom and contradictions, highlighting the spiritual appearance of Chinese people in Nanyang, and the ideologism of predecessor and perplexity of new generation, all these elements are crisscrossed and counterpointed in her literature work, this reflects on her unique spiritual charisma. She bravely pursuit freedom of writing and spirits of independence; and emphasize the core value of her position, she successfully delivered/reflected the thought of Chinese in Nanyang, especially the thoughts of new generations through her novel. Undoubtedly, her unique way of writing style, has injected new vitality and arouse the spirit of challenge and enlighten the development of Malaysian Chinese literature arena.
