First Exploration Of Style And Compositional Techniques For Contemporary Nanyang Chinese Orchestral Works

The development of today’s world presents the trend of multiple fusion. The contemporary composition reflects the new situation under the influence of post-modernism. Chinese music which in Nanyang style is the integration of the cultures of Chinese and Southeast Asia. This article explored the nationality in typical works of Chinese orchestral works in Nanyang style. In addition, it also analyzed the compositional technique which were used, and combined with the author’s composing experience of Go Across the Rainforests. As a consequence, the author attempting to make a summary of the development of Chinese orchestral works in Nanyang style at the present stage.
