Recent years have seen the growing popularity of “micro” culture. The variety ofthis culture ranges from “micro blog”,“Hint fiction”,“Micro-anime” to “Micro-film”,all of which have gradually penetrated into people’s lives.“Micro-film” with its“micro-length, micro-production, micro-capacity and micro-platform,” known as“four micro” features, quickly became a new favorite of most people. Meanwhile,with communication media of animation extending from film,television to web intermediaries, the “Network animation” came into being. It issimilar to “micro-film”; both of them use “network” as a platform. Therefore,“Network animation” can refer to “Micro-film” industry which is already successfulin business for its own development. The current paper is aimed to explore the basiccharacteristics and forms of communication of “Network animation”, how thenetwork media influence the animation creation as well as the advantages the“Network animation” by studying three successful cases of “Network animation”,namely,“Ten Minutes to Understand China”,“I’m MT” and “Miss Puff”. It waseventually concluded from the study that the short film animation with Internet as itsmedia is going to be more diverse, popular and commercial.
