The Research Of The Application Of The Patterns Of Xiangxi Hmong’s Fashions Under The Modern Visual Impact

National design, discover and application is the focus of industry in recent years. Developments of ethnic patterns and its applications is concerns in designing industry. Involving unique elements of national culture into modern fashion design is important for the innovation of fashion culture. Among6nationalities including West Hunan’s native Han nationality, Tujia nationality and Hmong nationality, Hmong accounts for33.7%of the total population. As one of the largest inhabitancies of Hmong nationality, West Hunan’s Hmong costuumes present rich and colorful designs, unique artistic styles and cultural connotations in the history of endless reproduction, development and inheritance.In recent years, as Chinese society is developing rapidly, communications and transportation means are increasingly improving, cultural exchanges and influences among different regions are enhancing continuously, modern visual system and fashion manufacturing technology are creating a drastic impact on the existence and development of West Hunan’s traditional Hmong costumes and patterns. And the development of the costumes and patterns is gradually weakening. Though national fashion has been included in intangible cultural heritage protection, the protection and assimilation results are worrying. Under such circumstances, there is no reason for young designers to shirk the responsibility for exploring contemporary national fashion designs and styles and inheriting West Hunan’s Hmong fashion culture while involving in modern visual designs.Cultural changes, the driving force of human civilization, have been taking place in West Hunan Minority extensively. West Hunan’s traditional Miao costume culture is making efforts to catch up with modern civilization in the process of integration, among them, the original works of medieval costume pattern, has become the nation’s art collections, which can not be imitated in modern society. In market economy era, only by combining the market, can each of the traditional costume patterns survive and develop, the design of traditional costume is to give the public a wider range of cognition. This paper is committed to using methods of literature searching, field investigation, to classify the patterns of Miao costume, to extract cultural element from their shape, color, craft and composition, to analyze reasons that threaten its existence and development, and to use language and thinking of modern visual design to enhance its modernity,weaken its national characters, precipitate its essence, to restructure and redesign and to add national pattern elements to clothing details, through the conversion of space level, color, form and proportion, production methods and the mode of thinking. Present West Hunan’s traditional Miao costumes culture while meeting modern aesthetic senses, make Miao culture sublimate with modern fashion as the carrier, exudes a unique cultural flavor of the Miao in a sense of modernity.
