The term "Ba Dai" refers to the ceremony host of various rituals of Hmong in Xiangxi (west Hunan Province), which includes typical Hmong ritual ceremonies and customs of social activities in certain regions.Miao is an ethnic group without written records. It suffered repeated defeats in the ancient tribal battles and its people were forced to migrate constantly, being tortured by tough life and paranoia. Consequently, "Ba Dai" becomes a heritage of faith and multicultural among Miao people, which is considered as a spiritual leader, being respected and enjoying a high status in the Miao society. From ancient times, the Hmong was a disaster-stricken nation. When failed in the Yanhuang tribal war, Miao was forced to undergo seven great migrations. The entire development of the nation, as well as its survival history, had been established in the disaster. Therefore, Hmong music focuses more on "sad tone",in helpless "wail". And its cheerful, lively tone is relatively small, which is more popular among young people in love. Hmong was a diaspora with no text or even language. In ancient times, those tribes of Miao scattered in the upper reaches of the Yellow River basin 71 beaches, downstream 82 bays. At that time, there were seventy-cavity, eighty-two tone notes. When migrating to mountainous areas of Xiangxi, only twenty-four cavities and thirty-three tones were inherited. In these most commonly used cavities and tones, each cavity has a tone or a series of tone, while each tone is taken from a certain place or an area. These cavities and tones are inherited by "Ba Dai",becoming the basic tones of Miao rituals. This paper is conducted from the perspective of protecting heritage and studies the practical significance of Ba Dai culture vocal music. It is so important to inherit and protect the religious music of "Ba Dai" that it will not only help promote the culture of the Chinese nation but also become one of the important measures to promote the regional economic development, cultural prosperity, national unity and social stability.
