As one of the important tonal pattern of Ci poem, Jiang Cheng Zi is composed ofvariant styles and musical characteristics. This article adopted methodologies likeanalysis, textual research and comparative research to systematically study the name, the poetic form, the rhythm of sounds, the content style and the artistic methods ofJiang Cheng Zi. This article is divided into five parts, aiming to build up the history ofthis only tonal pattern.I started the article with the study of the name of this tonal pattern, which is alsoinstrumental to most Ci poem researches. In this part, I used textual research to figureout the origin of the name, its forming time, the way it formed, and its alias. Then, Iexplored the meaning of “Jiang Cheng” and “Zi”.The second part of this article is the analysis of the poetic form of Jiang ChengZi. Here, poetic form means the structure of a Ci poem, which would significantlyinfluence the feelings and thoughts that a Ci poem expressed. Therefore, step by step,I counted the number of words and sentences, analyzed the level tone, oblique toneand rhyme. Then, I mainly explored “733” and “45” sentence patterns, and severalrhythm of sounds. In the third part, I studied the tones of Jiang Cheng Zi. Since Chinese traditionalCi poem was formed with the rise of Yan music, the tones are essential to Ci poem, byreflecting the emotional characteristics. This article assumed that Jiang Cheng Zi is aGao Ping tone.In the fourth part, I studied the contents of Jiang Cheng Zi and found that theyhave horizontally and vertically changed. This article used this rule to analyze thecontent styles and artistic methods, and dived into emotion expressions. I divided thecontent styles into HaoFang and WanYue, and separate the artistic methods into image, word repeat, description and language style.Lastly, I summed up the study results, generalized view points from each partand gave my conclusion.
