A Study Of Eimin.Ahmidi’s Translation Works

As being a mutual exchange, translation play really important role in literature and culturaldevelopment of different language group. As for Uyghur Literature, the literature of translation isnot only an essential ingredient of it, but also one of the main features of it. The literature oftranslation is occupied an important position in the evolutionary process of Uyghur Literature, evendominated in some particular period.The literature of translation of Uyghur had already emerged centuries ago, however the researchon it has been subjected to the domain of linguistic for the past years. In the literary establishment,literature of tanslation has officially became a research field in Comparative Literature studies andmarked by the born of Medio-translatology in1950’s. Regarding China’s translation studies, thistheory has been focused by scholars in between1970’s and1980’s, works engaged in literature ofUyghur is relatively less which is by the method of Medio-translatology and example analysis toresearch the literary translation.Therefore, it is necessary to discuss about translation practice ofone of the specific Uyghur translation works based on the theory of Medio-translatology, and thisis the demand for literature of Uyghur translation studies currently.This thesis Analysis its translation methods and train of thought based on the theory of literarytranslation belonged to the Medio-translatology by taking《Wolf Totem》as an example which is oneof the representative work translated by renowned Uyghur poet and translator Imin·Ehmedi.This paper is composed of four chapters such as introduction, text, conclusion,Appendix. Textpart of the paper is divided in to three sections.The first chapter mainly introduces the development of translation and translation literary inChina, outside of China and in Uyghur translation studies, meanwhile, give brief exposition onMedio-translatology which belongs to the Comparative Literature. The second chapter includes areference of Imin Ehmad’s personal backgrand and his creation; more importantly, analysis anddiscuss about the his translation methods on his representative translated work——《Wolf Totem》based on the theory of"creative treason" which belongs to Medio-translatology.The third chapter explores the individual features of Imin·Ehmadi’s translated works,furthermore, discuss his view and creation on translation which is a great contribution to Uyghurtranslation literary.The conclusion gives a further affirmation about the importance and significiance of theMedio-translatology act on Uyghur translation literary.Appendix includes Imin·Ehmadi’s chronological table of his translation work and the record ofinterview.
