Research On The Moral Foundation Of The Building Of The Pre-Qin Confucian People-orientated Ideas And Its Practical Route

Nowadays, China has made great progress in many fields, but it still has to be faced with some serious problems and challenges, especially the people’s livelihood problems in our modern society. The research on the moral foundation of Confucian people-oriented ideas and the building of the practical route in the Pre-Qin Periods can provide theoretical support for the Chinese modern people-oriented ideas and play a practical and reference role in solving today’s Chinese livelihood issues.The moral foundation of the building of the Confucian people-oriented ideas and its practical route in the Pre-Qin Periods were researched in the dissertation. The methods of documentation research, integration innovation and history research were adopted in it.In the dissertation the sources and the theoretical foundation of Confucian people-orient ideas in the Pre-Qin Periods were mainly discussed, the theoretical sources of the ideas was explored in the beginning, including the idea that public will reflected God’s will in the primitive society, the Xia, Shang, Zhou Dynasties’ideas in caring for people and the people-orientated trends of thought in the Spring and Autumn Periods. The theoretical foundation of Confucian people-orientated ideas in the Pre-Qin Periods, namely, Confucian people-orientated ideas, policies of benevolence and ways of supporting people were also explored.Then, the research on the moral foundation of the building of the Confucian people-orientated ideas in the Pre-Qin Periods was done. The moral implications, namely, benevolent ideology, which was the moral prerequisite of the smooth realization of the Pre-Qin Confucian people-orientated ideas, the morality concerning modesty and respect, which was the moral guarantee of correct and proper implementation of it, the moral justice, namely, the "Justice" virtue, which was the core moral principle of realizing it, were discussed respectively.After that, the practical route of the Pre-Qin Confucian people-orientated ideas was built. The route of enriching people, including benefiting people administratively, thinking of ways to make people rich and making great efforts to make the nation prosperous, was built first. The route of fully using of natural resources by the administration was followed, including the knowing and obeying natural law, taking measures properly and being both practical and realistic. And the route of working for the well-being of the people was built afterward, including the ways of caring for poor people, considering their feelings, treating people like their own children and making society harmonious.Finally, the strengths and deficiencies of the Pre-Qin Confucian people-orientated ideas were evaluated. The deficiencies were discussed first and the historic value afterwards. And last but not least some of the Pre-Qin Confucian people-orientated ideas were dug out, which can be used as valuable references to the construction of the Chinese modern people-orientated ideas and the modern livelihood issues.
