The era of the knowledge-based economy is providing cultural industry with the most fertile soil. On a world scale, the major developed countries ascend cultural industry to the strategic height one after another, cultural industry is realizing scale expansion with thunder speed, becoming the bestowed favor in new times. On a domestic scale, under the strategic background of "Promote cultural industry as the national pillar industry,enhance strength and completion of cultural industry overall", all regions in China develop cultural industry in combination with native resource advantages. As a grand cultural province, Hubei cultural industry develops at a lower level due to a late start. But with regional rich industrial foundation conditions,Hubei cultural industry has been showing a good momentum of steady development. By enhancing cultural industry competitiveness to foster "soft power" of Hubei, and promoting comprehensive strength is an effective way to enhance the regional competitiveness.On the basis of the theories of industrial economics and industrial competition, combine with the current development of the cultural industry of Hubei, and accord to the new standard of "culture and related industries classification2012", reconstructed the cultural industry competition evaluation index system, in order to evaluate cultural industry of Hubei. Specifically speaking, the paper is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction. Firstly, put forward the research background and significance; secondly, reviews domestic and foreign related research; thirdly, introduce the ideas and methods.The second part is the theoretical analysis of cultural industry competition. This part mainly aims at introducing the cultural industry theory, industry competition theory and cultural industry competition theory,in order to provide a theoretical basis for the following parts.The third part is the current condition of Hubei cultural industry development. Firstly,make a comprehensive introduction of the whole cultural industry in Hubei; secondly, focus on five advantage cultural industry of Hubei; thirdly, choose seven factors which have great influence on cultural industry to analyze the cultural industry in Hubei, providing direction for subsequent analysis.The forth part is empirical analysis for cultural industry competition of Hubei. First of all, in combination with the new standard of "culture and related industries classification2012", reconstructed the cultural industry competition evaluation index system, a total of six modules and41evaluation index; secondly, make the empirical analysis for Hubei cultural industry competition; thirdly, according to the empirical analysis results, put forward several problems.The fifth part aims at pointing out the countermeasures for the problems of Hubei cultural industry. Mining and integrating cultural industry resources; the cluster development of cultural industry; extending the creative industry chain; improving financing ability; speeding up the fusion of culture and technology; increasing the systems supply.The six part are the conclusions.
