A Practice Report On Interpretation In World Muslim Tour Operators Conference——escort Interpreters’ Qualities From The Perspective Of Subjectivity Consciousness

During the escort interpreting practice, escort interpreters have multiple roles to play, such as cultural coordinator, helper etc., therefore, the successful completion of escort interpreting task need interpreters be visible and fully play their subjectivity. Based on the interpreting practice in2013World Muslim Tour Operators Conference, the author discusses qualities that escort interpreters need from the perspective of subjectivity consciousness.This thesis is a practice report on escort interpreters’ qualities. From September6,2013to September10,2013, the author took on the task as an escort interpreter of World Muslim Tour Operators Conference. This report describes all the interpreting work she has done, introduces the background and detailed process of the interpreting task, through analyzing interpreting cases, summarizes the qualities that escort interpreters need from the perspective of subjectivity consciousness, offers three methods to enhance those qualities, and evaluates her performance in an overall way. Through this practice report, the author hopes that escort interpreters can realize the qualities they need, and hopes the methods in this report can be helpful to them.
