Based on the interpreter's interpreting experiences for the 1st World Football Culture Summit, this report analyzes and discusses interpreter's subjectivity in liaison-escorting interpreting activities by applying Bourdieu's(1992)Theory of Practice as a theoretical framework. It first introduces the concept of interpreter's subjectivity and popularity of liaison-escort interpreting due to China's surging need to communicate and exchange with the world. Then it introduces Bourdieu's(1992)Theory of Practice from three aspects, namely field, habitus and capital and reviews the applications of the theories in translation studies.Based on this, this report discusses how interpreter's subjectivity is related to and embodied in field, habitus and capital by referring to the interpreter's practical experiences.Examples of the difficulties and plights encountered and how they are dealt with are analyzed accordingly. This report finally reports the self-reflections of the interpreter in concern with manipulations of his subjectivity and puts forward some suggestions for liaison-escort interpreters.
