In the late Shang dynasty, Chu state migrated to the Southern China to Xinzheng of Henan province. In the early western Zhou dynasty, Chu’s citizens reached Dan xi region. Soon afterwards, they entered the Jing mountain area, then founded a capital in Jianghan region. During Chu’s heyday, it almost controlled all of Hubei, Hunan province and parts of Chongqing, Guizhou, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Zhejiang province. Chu state left brilliant culture which extremely influenced Anhui in history. Although there were countless research results about Chu’s culture, only a few of them carded and studied Chu’s tombs in Anhui systematicly.The chapter one is preface. This part mainly introduces relevant research results about Chu’s tombs, then analysizes the deficiencies about the study of Chu’s culture in order to point research methods and significance of this thesis.The chapter two is research of the tombs.Firstly, The general situation of the discoveries of Chu’s tombs in Anhui region is listed. Then the informations are extracted by synthesizing materials. The tombs are summarized after finding out the similarities and differences according to different size and shape. At the same time, the part of inner and outer coffins is extracted as a single section in order to understand the characteristics of these tombs.The third chapter is the combination and characteristics of objects, and partition of tombs. Burial objects is an important part of tomb researching which can reproduce social life and economic conditions by analyze artifacts. This chapter will introduce the burial objects of the different materials according to the characteristics of each era by using existing data. It shows the application and development trend of these objects. During the spring and autumn and the warring states period, the combination of objects also have different parts. it would result study in one-sidedness if consider all regions of Anhui as one part. Therefore, it will play a fundamental role in the research of Chu’s culture depending on partitions of Chu’s tombs. This chapter also discusses the communication and dissemination of Chu’s culture in Anhui area. During social unrest age, limitations of culthure is broken. Then culture begins to fuse and develop. In addition, varied cultural factors can be seen in the tombs. The status of Anhui in the spreading of Chu’s culture can be known by the regularity of Chu’s tombs and burial objects.The fourth chapter is conclusion. This part summarizes all the results and points out the disadvantages of the thesis.
