The application of traditional mineral pigment has a long history in the Chinesestrong color painting. From the Stone Age to Ming and Qing Dynasty and up till now,its development and application and further formulation has created its own uniquecharacteristics. This art form has reached its current peak, through the wisdom andhard work of the artists of different periods. During the period of great prosperityexcellent strong color painting works and a lot of outstanding strong color painterswere seen. Their works reflected the character of strong mineral paintings from thedifferent periods of Chinese history.In Chinese strong color painting, there is a unique color system, with uniquepigment processing techniques. These coloring methods display the outstandingcharacteristics of Chinese mineral pigment painting. This series of concepts hasformed a striking contrast between the color system of Western paintings and earlyand contemporary Chinese art forms.Chinese high mineral content painting gained its unprecedented popularity, whenthe painting techniques were developed in modern times. The development of mineralpainting has produced a great number of mineral painting artists and appreciators. AsChinese cultures and western cultures have begun to mix, Western classic painting,modern painting and Japanese Ukiyoe paintings have had a great influence onChinese traditional mineral strong paintings. Chinese traditional strong color paintinghas experienced many innovations, however the original concepts and foundations ofearly painting has had a profound influence. The mineral pigment itself hasexperienced great changes in the choices of pigment minerals, their processingmethods and application techniques. These changes have formed the uniquecharacteristic of mineral strong paintings in China.The unprecedented popularity of contemporary Chinese mineral strong paintingis a special phenomenon. The continued research into application techniques ofmineral pigment, has resulted in its current status is of great significance. Modernmineral strong paintings include various techniques and the development of newpainting tools. The smart combination of creativity and painting techniques, alongwith the enhanced tools has created new aesthetic perceptions of pigments. These changes show the artistic characters of modern mineral strong paintings from differentperspectives. The result is a special beauty in the paintings of the modern era. Themineral pigments themselves, which are the foundation of mineral strong paintings,have plenty of materials to choose from. These foundational elements of the strongmineral process have undergone continuous innovations. Advances in displayingtechniques have resulted in the unique artistic glamor of mineral strong paintings.The development of mineral strong painting indicates a clear progression in thedevelopment of the art form. The openness of creative ideas, the industrialization ofpainting tools and enhancement of display techniques constitute the development pathof strong color paintings. These developments are of profound significance inpromotion and development of traditions, artistic creation and the teaching of strongcolor painting.
