This research was focus on undergraduates who major in instrumental performance. The purpose of this study was to research on the influence of practice behaviors of the students from intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, and analyze gender difference, which could assist students to arrange their instrumental practices effectively and efficiently.A questionnaire was designed to assess every aspect of the students, which included the students of different schools.Contain the music department includes professional music college students and College Students.Different grades form freshman to senior students are included.Different kinds of instruments they are13kinds of instruments,such as piano,violin,erhu,dulcimer accordion.The questionnaire was real and effective, which means that the data could support this research effectively. Apparently, with the analysis of quantitative data, the author could discover common issue of the undergraduates and suggest them efficiently. It is helpful to improve learners’efficiency of instrumental practice.The main research contents include three plates of interconnected.The first,in the aspect of the "present condition",characteristics of instrumental learning motivation and behavior(analysis of the status quo and problems).The second,in the aspect of the "factor",to investigate the motivation influence of influence of instrumental practice.(Analysis of the external motivation and internal motivation).The third, in the aspect of the "countermeasures",the difference of instrumental practice motivation between different gender students(countermeasures and suggestion of construction practice).Using SPSS17.0to analyze the data via collecting the questionnaires that come to conclusion as follows:1. The self-efficacy of students instrumental practice is weak especially for the time self-efficacy.2. Evaluation of teachers and classmates in the external motivation is the main reason that affects the instrumental practice behavior.The internal motivation of secondary school students practice the subjective thinking of instrumental music plays an important influence behavior.3.There is no affect in differences gender in exercise behavior of instrumental music. Researching and thinking these questions, at the same time, comparing and analyzing the data to solve the problems, and then, come up with reasonable suggestions for learner on instrumental practice, which is beneficial for finding the effective methods and for promoting favorable motivation to occur. In conclusion, improve the efficiency and quality of instrumental practice and, in turn, help the learners to make better progress.
