The Ideal Personality In Wang Meng’s Novels And His Novel Creation

Ideal personality refers to the perfection of moral. It is the highest embodiment of social ethics and moral ideal and literary works have a very good interpretation.Wang Meng created many literary works in his life, these works can reflect Wang Meng’s understanding and promoting of the contemporary social ideal personality. Especially in his novel creation, the understanding and promoting of the ideal personality get a deep reflection. There are variety of ideal personalities in Wang Meng’s novel, the author will explore three categories of them in this thesis.This thesis is divided into three chapters to describe and analyze the ideal personality in Wang Meng’s novels and his novel creation.Chapter one elaborates the gentleman personality in Wang Meng’s novel. This chapter is divided into three sections, section one is to explore the Confucianism thought origin of the gentleman personality in Wang Meng’s novel and the traits of the gentleman personality. Section two is to analyze the concrete embodiment of the ideal qualities of the gentleman personality such as actively pursuing their dreams in Wang Meng’s novel. Section three is to explore the creative artistic skills of the gentleman personality wich start from the thoughts of Confucianism to analysis the natural poetic language features when the gentleman personality is created in Wang Meng’s novel. Chapter two elaborates the free personality in Wang Meng’s novel. The first section is to explore the Taoist thought origin of the free personality and the qualities of the free personality in Wang Meng’s novel. The second section combined with the specific characters in Wang Meng’s novel to analysis the qualities of the free personality such as inaction and treat life with a easy magnanimous mentality. The last section is to discuss the creative artistic skills of the free personality in Wang Meng’s novel wich include the softhearted sentimental narration style and the ironic humorous narration style.Chapter three elaborates the "holy" personality in Wang Meng’s novel. Section three is to discuss the creative artistic skills of the "holy" personality in Wang Meng’s novel wich include the narrative perspectives such as timing and rhythm.
