The teaching of folk culture supports us a good perspective for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.With folk culture, it can help us deliver national culture and national spirit, shorten the psychological distance among foreign students and even speed the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This thesis chooses the teaching of folk culture as its visual angle of research, then comes up with some corresponding teaching principles which based on current teaching achievements by combining analysis of relevant textbooks with present situation and shortage of the teaching of folk culture, so as to provide some reference to folk culture in the teaching of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The way of the teaching of folk culture includes folk as cultural factors imported in comprehensive course and a specialized culture course.This whole thesis is divided into five parts:The first part, the introduction part, puts forward the reasons of writing this paper, research purpose, research method, and current research situation that this paper focuses on.The second part, the conception part, carries on the preliminary of folk culture, which is about its definition, characteristics, types and function, briefly and shortly. Besides, it shows us some details about how important the folk culture is to the teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The third part, the analysis part, analyzes the compiling of comprehensive course and culture textbooks, sums up folk content which appears in textbooks deeply to prove whether folk content which selected to teach in class and settings of class types is suitable or not.The fourth part, the strategy part, combining with the analysis of the two former parts, based on an investigating and analyzing about Chinese folk culture, then focuses on teaching principle and teaching method respectively and puts forward some problems which should pay attention to during the process of teaching.The fifth part, the conclusion part, gives an overall review of the full paper, makes a summary on how the teaching strategies to guide teaching, points out the shortage of this paper, and what and where we should focus on in future.
