Road to Success (Elementary), which published in Beijing Language and Culture University, consists of four different levels for Threshold, Lower Elementary, Elementary and Upper Elementary. The paper mainly introduced the volume of vocabulary, vocabulary levels, vocabulary repetition rate, definition of terms and vocabulary exercises five aspects, in the basis of relative theories, previous research experience and practical experience of the author, to evaluate whether it is reasonable through quantitative and qualitative analysis, analysis the deeper reasons and put forward recommendations accordingly. For the sake of require writers and users to correctly regard the textbooks, and to promote its reorientation towards a more reasonable direction, meanwhile give some inspiration for subsequent edition and similar teaching materials.The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces the topic basis, current research, the scope of the study and the research methods. The current research part contains literature reviews study of previous researchers, while for the main study contents of this article, the author summarized and analyzed edict problem on written vocabulary in the field of foreign language textbooks by discussed from achievements, status, differences and development direction aspects.The second chapter is mainly about the analysis of vocabulary and vocabulary level of "Road to success"(elementary), the outline which used is the latest released book,"The Graded Chinese syllables, Characters and Words for the Application of Teaching Chinese to the Speakers of Other Languages". The book is on the basis of pragmatic perspectives, conducting a comprehensive reform of the"Outline level" published in1992. In this section, the author makes a series of data statistics and analysis of the vocabularies of four stages, eight single textbook, in the form of a single lesson, single book,volumes and in total and in the aspect of vocabulary level, first level,second level, third level,appendix and beyond outline.Chapter III is the study of "Road to success "(elementary)’s vocabulary repetition rate problem. Vocabulary repetition rate is very important in textbook. This paper examines the issue from the textbooks’ texts.There are three steps:first, to build up " Road to success "(elementary)’s eight textbooks’texts in the form of electronic text materials; Second, use the Chinese Academy of Computing Technology Chinese Lexical Analysis System ICTCLAS to segmentate the vocabulary of eight textbooks’electronic text materials, then manually checked. Third, on the basis of the results and use SPSS statistical software to make classification. Frequency statistics include single-word frequency and total words frequencyThe fourth chapter is the phonetic notation, part of speech and word meaning part of "Road to Success"(Elementary).It includes interpretation model, definition content, form of interpretation, interpretation question and analysis. Based on some more scientific、innovative theories which are selected, the anthor makes an overall combing and classifies the textbook.then the anthor puts forward some questions, makes analysis of the questions,gives some advices at last.The fifth chapter is the vocabulary exrecise part of "Road to Success "(Elementary). The language skills is finally formed by exrecise and practice, so whether a textbook is good or not,it often determined by the exrecise part.This part, the author mainly makes a research on quantity, distribution and question types of vocabulary exrecise.The last chapter is the summary part. It sums up the advantages and disadvantages of this textbook, then gives some ideas and suggestions on writing textbook. The topic and analysis of this paper is strongly practical. The anthor hopes that this paper can be helpful to the textbook writing work of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the future.
