Exercise is an indispensable part of teaching materials, and it is also an important way for students to consolidate classroom knowledge and self-examination.Exercise is also an important way for teachers to examine students' learning effects and adjust classroom teaching. At present, there are a lot of literatures about teaching materials research at home and abroad, but most of them are about words, grammar, texts and other aspects, and the research on exercises is relatively small. On the basis of previous studies, through literature research, comparative analysis and data statistics,we have made a comparative analysis of the exercises in the two teaching materials The Road to Success,Lower Elementary and Developing Chinese,Elementary Comprehensive Course(I)(Second Edition),explored the advantages and disadvantages of exercise arrangement in the teaching materials, and put forward suggestions for exercise compilation in the teaching materials, hoping to have a certain reference value in the compilation of teaching materials for Chinese as a foreign language and teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The full text is divided into two parts:The first part is the main part, which consists of three chapters. The first chapter mainly compares the amount of exercises in the two textbooks from the two angles of the number of pages and the number of exercises. The study found that the proportion of the number of practice pages in Developing Chinese to the total number of pages in the book and the average number of practice pages per lesson were lower than that in The Road to Success, with relatively few questions. In the two textbooks, the number of first-class topics in each lesson is relatively stable, and the number of second-class topics varies greatly. The second chapter mainly makes a comparative analysis of the question types of the two textbooks from the two aspects of practice content and practice form. The Road to Success pays more attention to the practice of basic knowledge such as pronunciation,Chinese characters and sentences.Exercise forms are rich and varied, with high repetition rate. The Developing Chinese does not pay enough attention to basic knowledge. There are too many scattered types of questions, too few main types of questions and unreasonable types of questions in Developing Chinese, which is the place for improvement.Developing Chinese has a unique type of question set according to the content of the text, but this type of question is rare in "The Road to Success".The third chapter focuses on the study of the purpose of the exercise. The exercises in the two textbooks are aimed at consciousness training,examination-oriented training, appreciation and appreciation, relaxation and adjustment, reduction of burden and blood pressure, development of intelligence and enhancement of motivation. The second part mainly aims at the above three problems, and puts forward three suggestions on the compilation of textbook exercises: first, increase the number of questions, increase the number of exercise pages,so that students can get sufficient training;Balance the number of secondary exercises in each class to keep the number of exercises stable.Second,in the primary stage, the arrangement of teaching materials for Chinese as a foreign language should pay more attention to the basic training of pronunciation,Chinese characters, sentences and so on,which is helpful to the improvement of the learners' comprehensive ability of language communication and so on.Reasonable setting of the number of main types of questions and scattered types of questions,so as to achieve steady changes in order to achieve good practice results;Setting up specific questions for the text content not only tests the students' knowledge, but also has strong practicability.Third, the aim of the exercise should be as comprehensive as possible to maximize the effect of the exercise.Due to the limitation of ability and conditions, there are still many deficiencies in the study of the two textbooks. There are few researches on the intensity and interest of textbook exercises. No relevant questionnaire was done for the exercise.
