As an academic thesis concerning the use of assistive technologies,“DisabledPupils`Use of Assistive ICT in Norwegian Schools”, written by Sylvia S derstr m, isthe second chapter of Assistive Technologies, a thesis collection edited by Fernando A.Auat Cheein. The source text mainly analyzes the advantages and disadvantages,factors and suggestions on disabled pupils’s use of assistive ICT, which has praticalsignificance so as to provide reference to China’s special education.The main contents of this report are divided into four parts. Part One mainlyintroduces the background information of the translation project and its referentialvalue highlighed through the comparision of assistive technologies between Chinaand Norway; Part Two gives a brief introduction to Sylvia S derstr m and FernandoA. Auat Cheein, as well as the stucture and liguistic features of the source text; PartThree mainly addresses two points in accordance with its language features: thetranslation of persons, acronyms and assistive technology related word or phrases; thetranslation of sentences using two methods, respectively “amplification andannotation” and “adjustment of word order” with the help of examples. Part Fourdraws a conclusion about the experiences, lessons and unsovled problems from thetranslation practice.
