Digital Symbol System Performance In The Modelling Idea And Application Of Visual Language Studies

Nowadays, as an important written form, digit has been an important element inexpression in visual design. What we call ‘the digital sign system’is the composition elementand roles, from o to9, on which the other digits are based to combining according someroles.In this thesis, the creative ways of digital design and how they are applied in visualdesign are analyzed and discussed. The system of digital sign is not only a simple system forcounting, but also on essential way in conveying ideas or cultural ideology. Till now, the digitfunctions as a way in counting and a need for visual application. Leaming from the digit andthe composition of signs, people can dig into traditional Chinese culture as the civilization ofhuman being. What’s more, the creative ideas of exploring into new fields can be expandedand be applied in visual designs to serve the designing works better.The thesis is composed of five chapters mainly including the history of the digit, thecontest knowledge of digit, the creative ways of the digit modeling as well as the applicationin visual. Combined with some experiences from the exploration in how to be creative ingraphic design, the thesis is full of the first hand materials got from the author’s designingpractices. Based on the view of the current design field, the thesis is meaningful in theapplication and prospect forecast about the digital design.
