As one of the most outstanding writing skills, Bi-xing plays an important role in the Book of Songs. Bi is a writing skill that uses the images of object to illustrate abstract things or to express subjective emotion---"use the relative thing to describe what the author wants to describe". Xing is a writing skill that through some images of object to lead the following text, which means" if you want express some subjective emotion, you tend to describe some relative images of object first and these images of object and the subjective emotion are always interlinked in some ways." the so-called images means the subjective intention through some ways, like metaphor, symbol and sustenance to add the emotion on object, and then we can get some concrete manifestation. The Book of Songs uses many Bi-xing writing skills which has strong subjective color to express the author’s emotion. It’s an very important tool to pin their feelings, foil atmosphere, dot characters or show the life situation at that time.The Bi-xing in the Book of Songs involves many images and these images are always involve many plants and animals like grass, trees, insects, fish, birds and beats and so on. All these plants and animals are from the People of Zhou Dynasty’s daily production and living. Why they choose these images to express their feelings is because that they are very familiar to them and they also put their emotions to these images during their daily production and living life. The Bi-xing images in the Book of Songs have a deep root in the People of Zhou Dynasty’s production and living life. We can through these Bi-xing images to observe and understand their life and their feeling from a new perspective.The Bi-xing images in the Book of Songs are always from love poems, these images mainly have three effects: to express their longing for good love and marriage, to express their miss between men and women, to express their sad feeling after the finish of their relation. There are many poems record a lot of crops, wild herbs. Some of these crops and wild herbs are used as images to reflect ancient people’s diet habit. The Bi-xing images in The poems which reflect their concept of fertility mainly express their desire of giving birth to more children and their hope that children have noble moral.The Bi-xing images in the Book of Songs reflect People of Zhou Dynasty’s culture concept. This writing skill has closely relation with their way of thinking. The original thinking of the People of Zhou Dynasty has a very important feature----they are good at using the analogy association and this is also an important reason why the Bi-xing writing skill can be formed. The analogy association reflects the People of Zhou Dynasty’s concept of the harmony between human and nature.The using of Bi-xing writing skill reflects that the People of Zhou Dynasty’s aesthetic concept---their advocating of plain and implicit; they draw a clear demarcation between what to hate and love; their strong localism.
