A Practice Report Of Exhibition Interpretation At2013Fall Canton Fair

In this interpreting practice report, I mainly describe the interpreting task onCanton Fair for the Hebei packaging company.Canton Fair is a big global trade exhibition that attracts worldwide exhibitors andpurchasers. As an exhibition interpreter, the author’s main tasks are responsible forreception and negotiation, and helping the communication between the manager andcustomers go smoothly. The thesis focuses on the author’s preparation forinterpretation, description of the process of interpretation, analysis of the translationtheories applied in interpretation and the characteristic of exhibition translation.Exhibition English as a world language, has its own features. It is important for theprofessional exhibition interpreters to master the language stylistic features andtranslation methods.There are five chapters in this practice report. Chapter one is a introduction ofthis interpretation task, include its background and requirements. Chapter two is focuson the interpretation process, which mainly describe the preparations before theexhibition, possible solutions on the emergencies and the acknowledgment ofexhibition interpreters. Chapter three is about case analysis, analysis the registertheory applied in exhibition interpretation. Chapter four is a conclusion. During thisinterpretation, the author has gained a lot and experience a lot, and also have to makea self-improve.
