This thesis, as a practice report, is based on the author's experience as the interpreter for the 117 th Canton Fair. As a major global trade fair, Canton Fair attracts thousands of exhibitors and buyers from all over the world every year. The main responsibilities of an exhibition interpreter include introducing the products and coordinating the communications between buyers and the manager, so it requires not only qualified language skills, but also the product-related English background knowledge on the part of the interpreter.The first chapter of this report, a general description of this practice, introduces the background knowledge of Canton Fair, the requirements of the task and the roles the writer played in this practice. The second chapter is about the preparation work and interpretation process. It focuses on the preparation works the writer did and the problems appearing in the interpretation process. The third chapter is the case analysis. In this part, the interpretive theory is applied to analyze the problems and some solutions are suggested. The last chapter is the knowledge and experience the writer learned from this practice and the enlightenments for future study and work.
