Asthe factory’s only exhibition interpreter in this fair, the author should communicatewith buyers from many parts of the world, offering interpretation service, and theauthor worked for Tiantan Factory during the whole process of Canton Fair.Canton Fair is of the oldest history among all the exhibitions in China. All kindsof products can be found in this fair. To understand the meaning of the buyers at firsttime, the interpreter has to focus the attention to combine the buyer’s content,intonation, observation and perception together.The dissertation is characterized by practical experience, and it summarizesexhibition interpretation with a professional perception. The author realized theimportance of good preparation, including the background of the factory and CantonFair, practicing listening ability and reciting stationery jargons. Exhibitioninterpretation involves a wide range of knowledge, such as mentioning industryknowledge, financial knowledge, knowledge of the exhibition, and otherproduct-related knowledge. It sums up the problems that are often seen in exhibition,plan-making of interpretation, and interpretation strategies in this dissertation.Meanwhile, it highlights the difficulties of interpreting in exhibition, such as accentidentification, digital interpretation, pencil jargons, handling exceptional case in theexhibition, essential qualities of exhibition interpreters, etc. All the issues mentionedabove are to be analyzed in the dissertation.
