| The21stcentury has witnessed rapid development of almost every trade in China,including the increasingly thriving tourism industry. China is not only rich in tourismresources, but also in tourism industry. China’s tourism industry is on its way towardsinternationalization. Tourism translation plays an important part in the internationalizationand the international competitiveness of China’s tourism industry. Therefore, thetranslation of tourism texts becomes very important. What translators need to do is tointroduce China’s rich tourism resources to those overseas tourists. How to stimulate theirinterest by making them fully understand the essence of the Chinese culture is an importantquestion for tourism translators. We need to choose some appropriate and viable strategiesto effectively guide translation practice.This paper takes the Chinese-English translation of tourism texts on Huangshan as anexample. Based on the characteristics of tourism texts and the special features of thistranslation material, it is mainly to explore some corresponding solutions and thensummarize some general translation strategies for tourism texts. The first chapter is aboutthe implementation of the translation task and the focus and difficulties of it. The secondchapter analyzes the general writing features of tourism texts and briefly introduces thetranslation material. The third chapter sums up some translation strategies according to thefocus and difficulties presented. The last chapter summarizes the significance of thistranslation studies. |
