A successful second language learner must have two kinds of skills that areautomatic processing and restructuring of the target language. Classroom teaching isthe main place in which teachers achieve the goal of teaching by teaching activities,and a successful classroom teaching must be based on an excellent teaching design.No matter what the subject is, the teaching procedures and activities should have beendesigned in advance of the classroom teaching. The teaching of Chinese in thenon-target language environment especially needs the teaching design which aims atthe personalities of students and their own mother country.This thesis analyses the distinctive features of Mongolian students in studyingChinese and combines with the status of Mongolia Elementary Spoken Chineseclassroom teaching. The writer proposes the Elementary Spoken Chinese classroomdesigned for pupils in Mongolia. This thesis consists six parts:In the introduction part, the author describes the current situation of Chineselanguage teaching in Mongolia and the researching methods. The second part of thispaper is the review of the literature. The third part is the based theory and designingprinciples of this paper. In the fourth part the author introduces the existing problemsin details of teaching the primary spoken Chinese in Mongolia. The problems exist inthe teaching materials, teaching aids, teaching methods and students. Furthermore, theauthor researches the features of Mongolian pupils in learning primary spokenChinese and differences in physiology and psychology between kids and adults inChinese learning. Based on the characteristics of the object, the author conducted aspecific class teaching design. The writer believes that the primary spoken Chineseteaching should be based on the principle of" student-centered ". The oral Chineseteachers should use teaching aids and create a communicating Chinese environment asfar as possible. Therefore, the students could accelerate the “automatic processing” ofthe information and improve their “restructuring” capability. The writer presented theinnovations and defects of this thesis in the conclusion part.
