The Research Of Teaching Chinese Characters To Indonesian College Students

The Chinese character teaching has long been considered is the difficulty and weakness of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and most overseas in addition to the extremely individual countries, have no the domestic environment of Chinese characters, so Chinese characters teaching is particularly difficult there. The most special country is Indonesia, because Chinese education there has been lost for more than thirty years. I have been worked in Machung University of Indonesia for two years, and according to my observation, communication to my students, and my usual collecting materials, I begin this paper.There are five parts of this paper. The first chapter is the introduction, it summarizes the research background, research status, research significance, the purpose of the research ideas and methods.The second chapter is the outline for the Indonesian Chinese characters teaching. Firstly, it introduces the history of Chinese teaching in Indonesia, and then expounds the importance and necessity of teaching Chinese characters. At last it analyzes the uniqueness of Indonesian students learning Chinese characters. The third chapter, according to the analysis of the questionnaire to Indonesian students learning Chinese characters, to understand their learning motivation, Chinese characters cognition, the classroom teaching of the teachers and students study after class. The fourth chapter, according to analyzing the collection of Chinese character data errors, to concluded why and where Indonesian students are easy to mistake in writing Chinese characters. The fifth chapter puts forward the teaching principles and methods in learning Chinese characters for Indonesian college students. Conclusion part points out some deficiency of this paper.
