With the emerging global Chinese craze, an increasing number of non-Chinesespeakers nowadays start to be interested in and learn Chinese language. As Chinesecharacters constitute one of the most difficult aspects of Chinese learning, more andmore importance is attached to Chinese character teaching in TCFL. It is verysignificant for foreign students from non-Chinese speaking areas to learn Chinesecharacters well in their initial stage of studying Chinese. Based on the error analysistheory, this paper summarizes and analyzes the Chinese character errors that TCSLbeginners tend to make, and then concludes the categories of these errors and theirleading factors. It also proposes a new set of Chinese character teaching strategiesfrom the perspective of cognitive psychology to direct the Chinese leaning of foreignstudents. The teaching strategies are composed of three parts: pre-class teachingpreparation, classroom instruction and after-school auxiliary tutoring, which aresystematically designed to help foreign students learn Chinese characters by providingnew learning approaches.Comparing and analyzing the teaching results of applying new teachingstrategies and not using them, scientific conclusions are made in this paper. Thisstrategy aim at provide a new way of learning Chinese characters to them, and helpthem study better and faster. Slip the leash of difficult about study Chinese characters.At last, help them learning Chinese beyond “the obstacle”.
