Bing Xin’s "Love Philosophy" And Literary Creation

Among a large number of literati in May Fourth period, Bing Xin is thought tobe a writer with unique writing styles. Influenced by the New Culture Movement, shestarted her innovation in writing style, and her writing idea, Love Philosophy, had runthrough and been merged in her literary creation for almost a century. However, mostof the researchers holds that Bing Xin`s works are too easy to understand and herliterary creative thoughts are too ideal to be presented, therefore, her works could notbe effective “medicine” to save China at the time and also were not paid muchattention by literary researchers at that time. By the1980’s, Bing Xin’s "LovePhilosophy" came back to vitality in scholars`eyes. Even so, the writer has found thatthe present researches on Bing Xin mainly focus on the connotation and origin of the"Love Philosophy", as well as her created literary genre from the perspective of theconnotation in her "Love Philosophy". However, these researches are not that deepenough. Therefore, this paper, from Bing Xin’s “Love Philosophy” literary creation,tries to research on her innovation in writing style and restore her real status inChinese literary history.This paper consists of three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion. Theintroduction is mainly about research review on Bing Xin and her works. And thepurpose and significance of the paper are also presented in this part. The main body ofthis paper consists of three chapters. Chapter one is about the “Love Philosophy” andBing Xin’s literary creation on short poem style. It gives a detailed explanation thatBing Xin’s literary creation on short poems was under the influence of RabindranathTagore. There is a reflection of Bing Xin’s “Love Philosophy” through the analysis ofher poems’ images.Chapter two are about “Love Philosophy” and prose style.Itexplains the relationship between “Love Philosophy” and problem from theperspective of the prose’s style characteristics, language and art feature. Chapter three is about the relationship between “Love Philosophy” and problem novel. The problemnovel contributed to the emergence and rise of the “Love Philosophy”. Later, with thematurity of her literary thoughts, Bing Xin’s “Love Philosophy” changed, therefore,problem novel shifted into life problem novel. Conclusion is about the re-commentson Bing Xin. She is not simply a writer, but also a stylist with various innovation.
