With the development of economy and the enhancement of national power, more and more foreign tourists are eager to come to China to have a visit. Especially in recent years, in order to further carry forward Chinese national spirit of patriotism,"red tourism" appears as a new type of tourism."Red tourism" refers to a form of tourism with Chinese characteristics. Tourists learn about revolutionary history and national spirit of China through visiting the Chinese revolutionary monument established by the Chinese Communist Party in times of war. However, due to the differences between Chinese and Western languages and cultures, the current "red tourism" translated texts are full of mistakes, which not only impede the foreign tourists’ understanding of the red spirit, but also reduce the attractiveness of tourist attractions. Therefore, in order to further improve the accuracy and normativity of translated texts, it is necessary to have an intensive study of "red tourism" texts.Translation is not just a simple process of semiotic conversion, but also contains a complex cultural communication, and this is the core connotation of translation. As one kind of typical intercultural activities, the translation of "red tourism" texts cannot be simply defined as the conversion of languages, but the communication between different cultures. The critical part of intercultural communication is cultural transmission, which requires that the target language should meet readers’needs while accurately expressing the cultural implication, mode and style of the original language. In this thesis, the author analyzes the current translation problems of "red tourism" texts from the perspective of intercultural communication. This thesis takes "red tourism" translated texts of Yan’an as an example, sums up the translation errors of "red tourism" translated texts, and further analyzes the primary causes of these translation errors. Based on the above research, the author discusses the translation principles and comes up with the solutions to the current problems from both macro and micro perspectives. After a systematic study, this thesis draws the following conclusion:analyzing "red tourism" translated texts from an intercultural communication perspective would be conducive to achieving the intended function and the successful completion of communication between different cultures, thereby reducing the communicative failures which are caused by cultural differences in the translation process.
