C-E Translation Of The Selection And Administration Of Cadres

As globalization accelerates, communication among countries in all aspects of political, economic, cultural continues to deepen. China has developed into one of the economic and political giants in the world. The outside world is eager to know more about China while the Chinese people expect to show a real China to the world. In view of the fact that publicity serves as a bridge between China and the other countries, successful translation of political texts helps inform people of China’s political stance and ideas, thus to provide a favorable international environment for China’s further development. The quality of political text translation determines the effectiveness of political propaganda. Therefore, it is of practical significance to probe in the study of political text and its translation.Conducted on the basis of the translator’s translation practice with the study of the general features and translation difficulties of political texts, the thesis focuses on the C-E translation of political texts from Adaptation Theory with the Selection and Administration of Cadres as the object of study. The article first introduces the definition and functions of political texts, describes the general features of political texts, and then discusses the difficulties of translation brought by differences between Chinese and English political texts. With an analysis of the relevant translation difficulties, the thesis investigates the translation of political texts under the guidance of the Adaptation Theory. The author manages to arrive at an interpretation that yields satisfactory range of contextual effects in this cross-cultural communication on inter-linguistic level and extra-linguistic level.
