| Teaching methods and vocabulary acquisition strategy is one of the hot topics in the field of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. Especially in the current oral Chinese teaching, vocabulary becomes the bottleneck during the oral communication. In addition to the learners’ reasons and characteristics of Chinese words, the textbooks, which seem as the medium between learners and teachers, are also very important to the vocabulary acquisition. The Research on Vocabulary of Speaking Textbooks is meaningful both for the practice and theory.In recent years, scholars have made great achievement in the field of the research on Vocabulary of Textbooks. But these studies are mostly focus on composite textbooks, and in view of the speaking textbooks, particularly the intermediate stage, which is crucial to enlarge vocabulary, these articles cannot completely solve the problems. So this article takes the vocabulary of intermediate speaking textbooks as the research object.In this paper Developing Chinese-Intermediate Speaking Course (second edition) is selected as the research object. This textbook is published by Beijing language and culture university press. It is mainly used for long-term graduate students studying Chinese in China and belongs to the common higher education "11th five-year plan" national planning materials. Developing Chinese-Intermediate Speaking Course (second edition) devotes to improving the Chinese language learners’ oral Chinese ability. The second edition is based on variety topics and new corpus, which adapts to the development of Chinese language, meets the requirements of the timeliness of oral textbooks. It is very popular among the teachers and learners. Based on the theory of cognitive psychology, stylistic theory and vocabulary learning theory, this paper devotes to investigating the amount of vocabulary, distribution, parts of speech, new absorption, stylistic, recurrence rate, part-of-speech tagging, word notes and so on. By using the method of quantitative analysis, in this paper we analyzed the problems of vocabulary existing in the speaking textbooks, which provides the new idea of textbook compilation and is a good way to enrich the teaching theory.The main parts of the paper include:(1)In the first part, according to the outline, we analyzed vocabulary selection and arrangement. In this part, we also discussed the situation of the textbooks absorbing new words and the style of language.(2)Based on the Cognitive psychology theory, we described vocabulary reiteration in all of the texts and summarized the achievements and shortages in vocabulary reiteration and put forward suggestions for improvements. (3) According to the principle of notes, we summarized the shortages in the textbooks and hope to provide reference to the vocabulary compilation of textbooks in the future. |
