About the utilitarian view, the history of Western thought mainly discussed it from the social foundation of utilitarian view and the moral influence of utilitarian view. As for the former, in this sense that people generally attention to utilitarianism; While for the latter, the result is moral or not makes people not only study the utilitarianism theory (Consequentialism), but also research the theory of motivation, this is deontology. With respect to deontology, utilitarianism occupies leading status throughout the western ethical thought for a long time. Since the late18th century, utilitarianism began to witness a systematic development among western countries. In the entire western history of thought, utilitarianism still opposed to deontology. Since ancient times, China contains a wealth of utilitarianism and moral ideas, and in history, utilitarianism and deontology had many discussions. However, no matter utilitarianism or deontology, we can not emphasize one aspect partially all the time, to indulge deontology regardless of utilitarianism in empty talk is just like castle in the air without material basis, while to indulge utilitarianism regardless of deontology is just like the body without a soul, and the development of entire society may be will fall into massive danger and fierce contradictions. As proletarian revolutionary tutors, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels are light of social development directing us, who guide us the direction. And with Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, utilitarianism and deontology exist in a dialectical united relationship. From the point of view of historical materialism, starting from the real essence of human beings, critique and sublation of the Western utilitarianism, Marx and Engels put forward proletarian utilitarianism truly in the utilitarianism of dialectical analysis angle. On the way of building socialism with Chinese characteristics, utilitarian thoughts influenced economy, culture, social development, people’s value and every aspect. With the sweep of economic globalization, it also put forward challenges for our socialist core value system, this makes us insist on utilitarian view of Marxism, which can provide moral support for our construction of socialist development.Through the tracing and introspection of Western utilitarianism, with the study on the theory of human of Western utilitarianism, the article thus draws forth the utilitarian view of Marxism, discusses on it profoundly, and finally reveals the great significance of the utilitarian view of Marxism:Chapter One:Reflections on the Past. It mainly discusses primarily on the origins and developments of Western utilitarianism and deontology, reveals that one of the important philosophical bases of Western utilitarianism is the unilateral theory of human of moralists and economists, and regards it as the breakthrough to draw forth the setting of the person in reality and the person in society by Marx.Chapter Two:To discuss the content of Utilitarian view of Marxism. The whole article includes following aspects:Marx’s theory of human needs, relation of utilitarian view of Marxism and public interests and selfishness, relation of utilitarian view of Marxism and social justice, as well as the ultimate goal and destination of utilitarian view of Marxism.Chapter Three:To discuss the meaning of the utilitarian view of Marxism. Utilitarian view of Marxism has strong meanings on theory and in practice. It is not only using the person in reality and the person in society to criticize and surpass the old one-sided theory of human nature, and also conform to the choice of value of people and the society and support the development of the economy and afford the moral insurance system for our country to build a harmonious socialist society.
