In understanding Marx's ideological change and the theoretical connotation of historical materialism,German Ideology as a landmark document for Marx's creation of a new world view of philosophy,undoubtedly occupied a vital position.However,for a long time,the interpretation of the text of German Ideology in academic circles has been limited to the first chapter "Feuerbach",while the chapter "St.Max",which accounts for almost two thirds of the book,has not received due attention.It should be noted that,as one of the important representatives of the young Hegelians,Steiner was also a firm critic of speculative philosophy like Feuerbach.Steiner's "the Ego and Its Own" represented a new theoretical height in the criticism of Powell,Feuerbach,and Hegel's speculative philosophy.In German Ideology,Marx spared no effort to criticize Steiner in nearly two thirds of the book,so what is the relationship between Marx's criticism of Steiner and the construction of his historical materialism? It has been ignored intentionally or unintentionally by the theoretical community.However,the academic circles have always traced the construction of German Ideology and historical materialism to an inevitable result of the development of Marx's earlier thought.But he didn't really pay attention to it.Marx through from The1844 Manuscripts to The Theses on Feuerbach of such a thought process,the development of German Ideology,has established the principle of Hegel,Powell and Feuerbach's principled critical position.At this time,Marx was already clear that he wanted to construct a grand narrative task for the historical development of human society.Logically speaking,it is not enough.Only by completing his critique of Steiner did Marx present the first chapter of German Ideology and thus construct his historical materialism.Accordingly,Marx's philosophical criticism of Steiner symbolically context has opened up a new philosophy,and Marx is in the process of criticism of Steiner,inspired the construction of historical materialism and the motives of positive exposition of the historical materialism,and then established the individual labor,realistic personal and reality,and with the aid of spontaneousdivision of labor,launched a grand narrative of human history.Therefore,the development course of Marx's thought can not be regarded as a simple process of accumulation of quantity,not to be regarded as a closed self-reflection.In the course of its development,opportunities for ideological change are everywhere,and Steiner is the last opportunity for Marx to construct the historical materialism.
