The Lower Xiajiadian culture is Early Bronze civilization occurred in the northeast region of China. From the beginning of the Neolithic period, the West Liaohe River different from the Central Plains region, formed a mountain fortress type of archaeological settlement culture. Surface ruins of stone-walled city and mud-walled city are forming circle building of stone or mud rampart, which is the important peculiarity of the Lower Xiajiadian culture.Since the1940s found that the Lower Xiajiadian culture city sites, though done a. lot of archaeological excavations, but the lack of systematic research for the distribution of city sites, internal structure, and cultural connotations. Therefore, this paper addresses the Lower Xiajiadian culture city sites found in the eastern region of Inner Mongolia as the main material, combining the latest archaeological report, to undertake a comprehensive study of the Lower Xiajiadian culture city sites in eastern region of Inner Mongolia.In the first chapter, reviews the discovery and study status of the Lower Xiajiadian culture city sites. In the second chapter, introduces the Lower Xiajiadian culture city sites of this study scope. And by comprehensive preliminary analysis of these city sites, in the third chapter, states structure and architectural features of the Lower Xiajiadian culture city sites. In the fourth chapter, proceed periodization of the Lower Xiajiadian culture, on this basis, the comprehensive study function of the Lower Xiajiadian culture city sites.
