Early Stone City site of the Great Wall in Inner Mongolia area in northern China is an archaeological culture located in the historical Great Wall area. The scope of their distribution in terms of the Inner Mongolia can be divided into two parts:One is central and southern part of Inner Mongolia (the middle zone the Great Wall) and the other is south-eastern part of Inner Mongolia (the east district of the Great Wall). Confirmed by the archaeology, the culture in Inner Mongolia is originated from the Longshan period in the south-central part and extended to the southeast of the Bronze Age.The stone city distributed in these two geographical areas has its origins in common and their different points as well. The early scholars have discussed the morphological structure and the social function, and there are different points of view. This article will take two parts, "points--- the total", comparison of research methods, focusing on the Great Wall in Inner Mongolia in the layout differences, social function, the relationship between such issues and make some new plain view.First, the great similarity between the two areas is that all the stone cities are situated at the foot of a hill and beside a stream, its shape is determined with the ups and downs of the terrain, so the plane figure is not fixed. Some approximate square, round, oval, triangle, shuttle-shaped and other shapes; distributed along the historical Great Wall, which made it has obvious military defense capabilities.Second, in these two regions, the stone city, have built a special ritual. The emergence of a large number of sacrificial remains, shows that the stone city has a certain kinship ties with its surrounding areas. At the same time, religious belief has been formed a powerful cohesion.Third, in these two regions of the fortress, the biggest difference is the inconsistency of the social settlement pattern. The Stone Castle distributed in the middle zone of the Great Wall in Inner Mongolia, is the nature of individual existence, and that of the eastern section of the fortress area form a unified whole with a point, line distribution.Fourth, through the comparison between the two regions in Inner Mongolia, we can speculate by inference, the eastern section of Lower Xiajiadian culture fortress of the Settlement Group and its associated objects, inherited cultural tradition of south-central Inner Mongolia. It should be a further differentiation and development of the large fortress in central Daihai region represented by the Tiger Hill site.Fifth, the development of the fortress is different from that of the Central Plains soil city. It's appearance and development has a certain stage. It's development reflects the diversity of the ancient city of China.
