| In recent years, pride has gradually become one of the hotspots of psychology as aself-conscious emotion. Previous researchs selected adults or infants as subjects, and fewresearchs were about the role of motivation on pride. In this research, primary schoolchildren’s developmental characteristics on pride expression of a nonverbal behavior andthe influence of embodied pride on task perseverance are investigated.A comprehensive literature review was made on the concept of pride, pride relatedresearch, embodied pride and task perseverance at home and abroad. On the basis ofanalysis on previous studies, two studies were presented. In study1, we took pictures about pride from the group which are randomly selectedfrom1-6grades, then teachers assessed these pictures to measure the developmentalcharacteristics of180primary school children’s nonveral behavior of pride expressionfrom1-6grades. We used gender and grade as independent variable to discuss thedevelopment of recognition rate of pride pictures on gender and grade. The results were asfollows:(1)Gender and Grade did not significantly affect pride identification. But thedevelopment trend of noveral behavior of pride increased from the first grade to the thirdgrade, decreasing in the fourth grade, and then increasing from the fifth grade to the sixthgrade gradually.(2)The prototypical noverbal behavior of pride expression includessmile, expanded posture, the head tilted slightly back, and single hand in fists. In test1of study2, the recognition rate of nine pictures which we selected from study1are higher than65%to measure the different patterns of imitation about pride (noverbalbehavior of pride, facial expression of pride, body movement expression of pride andcontrol group) how to influence pride intensity. The results were as follows:(1)Gender didnot significantly affect pride intensity.(2)Different patterns of pride significantly affectedpride intensity, and noverbal behavior of pride, facial expression of pride was higher than the other three groups which did not differ significantly. In test2of study2,according to test1of study, we used different patterns of imitationon pride and gender as the dependent variable measuring, then the participants need tocomplete a task on perseverence on computer, and the result of task as the independentvariables, to study whether pride can influence the perseverence of80children from thesixth grade. The results were as follows:(1)Gender and grade did not significantly affectpersevernce.(2) There was a significant interactions between gender and grade, that amongboys who persevernce in experimental group was higher than that in control group;among girls, there was not significant differences between experimental and controlgroup. In conclusion, pride cannot enhance perseverance in simple task. The difficulty oftask may modertate pride and perseverance. |
