Modern Chinese adverbs Hai, You and Geng have multiple meanings and highly-usedfrequency. Not only are they the emphasis of research on Chinese noumenon, but also thekey and difficulties to the foreigners who are willing to learn Chinese, which make itextremely important to teaching Chinese as the second language. This research of teachingadverbs Hai, You and Geng will have a positive theoretical and practical significance in thefield of learning and teaching Chinese as the second language, and will also provideinspiration to some extent to the acquisition and teaching of other adverbs in Chinese.Firstly, this dissertation intends to make a classification of the meanings and therelated formats of adverbs Hai, You and Geng from the point of noumenon. Based on theresearch of <Eight Hundred of Modern Chinese> and <The Outline of Foreigners’ ChineseTeaching in Colleges and Universities>, this paper will classify the meanings and relatedformats of adverbs Hai, You and Geng into several portions: representing time, relevance,quantities, tones and some other formats.The most important part of this paper is the error analysis on the foreigners’ misuse ofadverbs Hai, You and Geng. It discusses main types of the misuse of them, respectivelyrepresenting quantities, relevance and tones, in accordance with those types of misuses.Furthermore, this thesis analyses the causes of the bias of Chinese adverbs Hai, Youand Geng from the point of noumenon research, redacting teaching materials, teachingmethods and acquisition of students. Lastly, it puts forward some teaching skills andcountermeasures to reduce biased errors.
