Higher vocational education of China has substantial development in education,the quality of education and the education practice, etc in recent years, It has beenbecame the higher level of education and continuous conveyor technical talents forthe society. But because of the bias of the traditional Chinese education, highervocational education still under the mode of higher education development either intheory or practice and teaching. As one of the very important compulsory courses ofpublic English in higher vocational colleges, teaching mode is not out of the academicEnglish teaching mode. The goal of higher vocational education is to improve theskills, It characteristics is based on the employment,which as the guidance. Sohigher vocational education has essential difference with ordinary education. Highervocational colleges should also be in imparting the basic knowledge of English asequal as pay attention to cultivate the students’ future career related English ability.But today, A lot of problems exist in higher vocational public English teaching, thehigher vocational students constantly complain about traditional English teaching,which teaching them English for more than ten years but still no good score, still can’tput English knowledge to use on the job, even by unit of choose and employ persons.Therefore, this study aims to improve the quality of public English teaching in highervocational colleges, enhance the capacity of higher vocational students’ employmentand put the English knowledge to use, achieve the goal of training applied talents inhigher vocational colleges. Take higher vocational colleges in Qinhuangdao as anexample, based on the perspective of the relationship between basic English andprofessional English, this paper study build more suitable for higher vocationalcollege English teaching mode, make public English better service for the students ofthe future industry.The first part in this paper is discussed the research background, researchsignificance and research status both at home and abroad, and Outlines several of theconcept, the feasibility and necessity of the studies in this thesis. The second part isexpounded the current public English teaching mode of higher vocational colleges and its problem. The third part discusses current situation of the public Englishteaching model of one of Qinhuangdao vocational colleges, and analyze the currentproblems existing in the teaching mode such as students, teachers, teaching content,teaching method, teaching means, teaching material, and teaching evaluation Thefourth part aims to improve the students’ employment service in the future, It putforward the framework of higher vocational college English teaching model--"base+professional" teaching model framework with the perspective of the relationshipbetween basic English and professional English. With the combination of quantitativeanalysis and qualitative analysis, This paper purpose is to strengthen the relevantbetween the public English and student’s major, improve them working ability.
