Since2008, international situation has changed magnificently. This thesis focuses on perceptions by Chinese academic circle towards Europe after2008which is under the background of financial crisis. With China’s rapid rising and the improvement of European integration, the Sino-EU relations attract more concentration. On the basis of reviewing the changes of Sino-EU relations and analyzing Chinese perceptions of the Europe, the relevant Chinese articles published by Chinese core journals from2008to2011are selected as key materials to be analyzed in this thesis. By empirical researches, document interpretation and comparison analysis, this thesis demonstrates the contents, characters, deficits and reasons of the above mentioned perceptions. This thesis compares the perceptions with foreign scholars’and public perceptions as well. The study in this thesis can be used for reference for other relevant studies in the area of European studies about Sino-EU relations in the future.The structure of this thesis is as following. First, this thesis introduces the EU-China relationship of the past more than30years since China establish diplomatic relationship with the European Economic Community (EEC) in1975. The thesis focuses on the development of EU-China relationship by separating the past into three main periods. Second, the thesis concentrates on the contents of Chinese scholars’ perceptions. Third, the thesis compares the mentioned perceptions with other perceptions, including European scholars’ perceptions, public perceptions and so on. Forth, the thesis analyzes the perceptions again. Last, the thesis discusses the reference values of this thesis.
