Wei Zheng, who has been famous for his skill of rectifying the emperor’s fault, is aprime minister of the early Tang Dynasty. As one of the architects of the Golden ZhenguanYears, Wei Zheng’s legal thoughts are characteristic. The Compilation of the RectificationWords of Wei Zheng is a book written by a minister who lived in the period of the rule of theempress Wu Zhao named Wang Fangqing in which Wei Zheng’s thoughts of Philosophy ofLaw reflected. This article use the said book as primary research material.This article includes preface, text and epilogue. In the part of preface the author brieflyintroduce the basic situation of Wei Zheng and the meaning of the topic and the presentsituation of the research. In the part of epilogue the author gives a conclusion of this article.The part of the text, which is the main body of this article, includes three parts been stated asfollows:Part one: The source and background of times of Wei Zheng’s people-oriented thoughtsof Philosophy of Law. The theories of Mencius, Xun Zi and Liu Song,a judge of the WesternJin Dynasty, are demonstrated to be the source of Wei Zheng’s thoughts of Philosophy of Law,while the social realities of the turn of the Sui Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty are identified asthe background.Part two: The connotation of Wei Zheng’s people-oriented thoughts of Philosophy ofLaw. Legal ontology, legal values and the idea of legal course are the main content of this part.The author elaborates Wei Zheng’s point of view of the property of law and the values ofjustice, as well as illustrates his frame of reference of legislation, enforcement, judicature andbeing law-abiding.Part three: The trait and historical influence of Wei Zheng’s people-oriented thoughts ofPhilosophy of Law.The traits are summed up as realism, introspectivity and actual effectivity.The influences exist in both the Tang Dynasty and the later era.
