The Mechanism And Control Of Rural Mass Incidents Of Interest Demanding Type

With the ongoing reform and opening-up, the transformation of the market economy, and the adjustment of the pattern of social interests, the number of new problems and new contradictions are increasing every year. For these reasons, the mass incidents are going up gradually. The mass incident is a negative social factor that undermines social stability. It will have an impact on peoples’normal political, social, economic and cultural life. Some would even lead to the regional or national social unrest, posing a threat to social stability. The mass incident is an important window to observe the transition of Chinese society. The domestic study found that the mass incidents in rural China are mostly interest demanding type. Based on Guangdong Wukan event and Jiangsu Tongan incident, this paper analyzes problems of two cases occurring in each period. It also uses the ways local governments and villagers taken to resolve the problems as samples. From the social background of transformation and using of "process-event" social analysis method, this paper grasps the current social structure and social process to analyze the impact by the urbanization, transformation of the forming of social control model on the rural mass incidents of interest demanding type. It tries to explore the mechanism of such incidents and gradually find a way to establish the long-term prevention and solution of rural mass incidents mechanism, and finally scientifically provide new strategies and ideas to solve the problems of interest demanding groups.
