Democracy Is The Political Basis Of Building Socialistic Harmonious Society

Fundamentally, democracy is a kind of national systems, the method andprinciple of organizing and managing the nation. Socialist democracy is that all powerbelongs to the people. The people are the masters of the country. People have thehighest power of the state affairs, economic and cultural affairs, and social affairs onthe basis of sharing the different forms of ownership and control rights in production,the main content of socialist democracy is three unity of the party’s leadership, thepeople being the masters of the country, and ruling the country by the law, which fullyreflects the people’s sovereignty principle.Harmonious society is a people-oriented society. It has six characters, democracyand the rule of law; fairness and justice; honesty and fraternity; vitality; stability andorder and harmonious between people and nature. As a political characteristic ofharmonious society, Democracy is the prerequisite and the means to realize othertargets of harmonious society. The masses are the main body and the core power ofbuilding a harmonious society. So the construction of harmonious society needspeople’s creativity, devoting people’s creativity must be on the foundation ofsupporting and maintaining the people being the masters of the country. Therefore,democracy as the basis of political system and political means maintain the people’smain status and the fundamental interests, coordinate the interests of each group andvarious social strata, which is necessary of constructing harmonious society. Thefundamental purpose of democratic politic is to ensure citizen’s political rights andinterests, and to promote the various social strata and groups to get the harmoniouscoexistence situation. Truedemocracy is bound to promote the harmony between different social classes andbetween various groups of interests, between the party and the masses, the harmonybetween parties, the harmony between ethnics, the harmony between central and thelocal, the harmony between government and citizen, so as to lay a solid politicalfoundation for building a harmonious society.Building harmonious society must realize the unity of the party’s leadership,people being the masters of the country and rule of law.
