Sovereignty is one of the most controversial concept of the International law. Since the end of the Cold War, the dissolution of the Soviet Union has led to the international situation changes and the economic globalization has gained substantive progress. As the center of the Westphalian system, sovereignty is undergoing intense transformation, the traditional principles of sovereignty theory is increasingly been questioned from all sides, some Western countries has even proposed some arguments such as,"Theory of sovereignty obsolete","Supremacy of human rights". These series of changes force us to think about it:Whether the principle of sovereignty is still constitute the fundamental principles of international law? Whether the sovereign states are the basic subjects of international relations nowadays?Despite these, I still believe, sovereignty is still a basic principle of international law nowadays. This paper has been divided into five parts; introduction is mainly to explain the purpose and significance of this article. Chapter two is an introduction to the background of the theory of national sovereignty, the formation and development of history, and then discusses the new changes about the theory of national sovereignty in the post-Cold War era. The third chapter discusses the performance of the new development of the principle of sovereignty in contemporary international law, made alienation in the political, economic and cultural. In addition, made an introduction of food sovereignty. The fourth chapter analysis the reasons about the new development. Chapter five analysis the problems that we encountered with the combination of the actual situation since the founding of New China. At last, proposed a personal point of view and countermeasures.
