Under the new historical context, with the deepening of urbanization, we can find thatgovernors are paying more attentions to the common development of urban and rural areas. During theprocess of urbanization, large areas of land surrounding the cities have been expropriated. However, theland is not only the lifeblood, but also the basis of famers’ life. China is a vast agricultural country, so thequality of farmers’ life directly influences the harmonious development of society.Country urbanizationpolicy makes farmers leave their land, enter into a strange city and become so-called "marginal people".It directly affects all aspects of farmers’ life, decides the farmers’ level of the country’s political identity,and ever more easily cause unnecessary social contradictions.Therefore, the research onland-lostfarmers’political identityunder the background of urbanization is necessary.This article is started from the following3core concepts, the definition of urbanization, landlessfarmers and their political identity, taking participating in democratic theory, justice theory and thepolitical process theory as theoretical basis, to find the land lost farmers’ political identity problems whenimplementing urbanization. Respectively are low identities with related systems, benefit safeguardmechanism and authority of local government.Through the analysis of the above problems, we can findthe root cause are imperfectnational relatedsystem, unsound benefit safeguard mechanism, nonstandardbehaviors of local government and lowideologicalawareness of farmers themselves.On thisbasis, government should makeevery effort tofind a feasible countermeasuresguaranteefrom the following four aspects: national related system,safeguard mechanism of interest, authorityprotection and farmers’political consciousness. Only in this way, the political identity of land-lost farmers can be enhanced under the background of urbanization.
