On Harmonious Value Of International Private Law

"Harmony" is one of the unique values of Chinese civilization and it is also the highest value of ancient Chinese traditional law. International private law originated from Italian peninsula800years ago, but in ancient China, not only can be found the simple thinking about international private law in our ancient time, but also be found the special contribution in ancient China legislation. Although differences of legal cultural between Western and China,it created a different course of development into two sides in the international private law, but the pursuit of legal value is the same and that is the overall harmony of the human society.First, I expounded the meaning of the word "harmony", summed up the value of "harmony" in the manifestation of our traditional law, and discussed the relationship of "harmony" and International private law. Next, I discuss the history of the process of International private law’s thinking in ancient China, expanding the line of succession of the values of the "harmony" in ancient china international private law and legislation practice. Then, compare with the course of development of the Western international private law and its basis of philosophy. We can find that the international private law develop from the theory to legislative, and it is a harmonious evolution in the West that from the theory to legislative and then from rigid to flexible under its specific historical context.
