With the continued growth in demand for China’s oil consumption,in2003, China has already become the world’s second-largest oilconsumer, the dependence on oil imports straight line rise. China mainlyimports oil from the Middle East Gulf region, along with the continuedtrend of rapid development of the domestic economy, China’s energydemand must be more vigorous. The Middle East is an importantbattleground for the implementation of China’s "going out" energystrategy and the main source of China’s overseas energy. The21stcentury, China and the Middle East, energy cooperation has madeconsiderable progress, but the political situation of the complex andvolatile in the Middle East face multiple risks, especially the politicalrisk. This not only affects the successful implementation of China’senergy strategy, but also damage to the existing pattern of cooperationbetween China and the Middle East.In addition to the introduction, this article is divided into threesections. The first part is the second chapter, the paper researchfoundation, mainly from three aspects, expounds the Middle East oilstrategic significance for China’s energy security. First of all,through theintroduction of Middle East oil resources, highlighting the Middle Eastan important geopolitical position. Secondly, through the quantitativeanalysis of China’s domestic oil supply and demand, China needs theMiddle East oil supplies are obtained. Thirdly, through the analysis ofthe United States, Japan, the European Union on Middle East oilresources in the game situation and the effects of game situation forChina’s energy security. The second part is the third chapter. Mainly discusses in the MiddleEast for oil China investment and trade existing types of political risk. It’sincluding political unrest in the Middle East and political wrangling, thediscontinuous policies and regulations and the third party interventionand competition, local wars and military conflicts and ethnic conflictsand terrorist attacks.The third part is the forth chapter. It is the ultimate goal of this thesisresearch. This chapter through to the American and Japanese experienceof avoids the risk of overseas oil investment and trade. Provide thereference for our country which is making investment and trade in theMiddle East to avoid political risk. Provide a theoretical basis for thesuccessful implementation of "going out" strategy and national oilsecurity and decision-making reference.
